A major renovation of the museum's historic home and main exhibition space*the Patent Office Building*continues in the heart of the revitalized downtown arts district in Washington D.C. All administrative offices for the Smithsonian American Art Museum have moved one block north of the Patent Office to the Victor Building, located at 750 Ninth Street N.W.

The museum is continuing a full program of exhibitions and events at its Renwick Gallery, located near the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue at 17th Street N.W. The museum's Renwick Gallery is dedicated to exhibiting American crafts from the 19th to the 21st century and is open from 10 A.M. to 5:30 P.M., seven days a week (except December 25).
