Four Spanish frontier missions, part of a colonization system that stretched across the Spanish Southwest in the 17th, 18th, 19th centuries, are preserved here. They include Missions San Jose, San Juan, Espada, and Concepcion. The park, containing many cultural sites along with some natural areas, was established in 1978. The park covers about 819 acres.

 Directions 

Plane - San Antonio is serviced by San Antonio International Airport and Stinson Municipal Airport.

Car - From Downtown:Proceed south on St. Mary's Street, which will turn into Roosevelt Avenue. Continue south to the 3300 block of Roosevelt, where it intersects with New Napier Avenue. Turn left. You will see the park visitor center on the left.

From Interstate 37:Exit at West Southcross Boulevard. Proceed west on Southcross to Roosevelt Avenue. Turn left and proceed south on Roosevelt until it intersects with New Napier Avenue. Turn left. You will see the park Visitor Center on your left.

From Interstate 10:Exit at Probandt Street and follow the National Park Service signs to Mission Concepcion. Park rangers will provide detailed information about routes to the remaining missions and sites.

Public Transportation - City bus service (VIA) Route 42 travels north and south on Roosevelt Avenue. The stop at Roosevelt and New Napier is within easy walking distance to the park Visitor Center
